Arsani by Greta Kalyla

Arsani (2023) by Greta Kalyla is a ceramic jewelry collection inspired by the Harihara Simping statue from the Majapahit period. The collection was created as part of an undergraduate thesis project for the Ceramic Craft program at the Bandung Institute of Technology, the project explores the potential of ceramic as a medium for contemporary jewelry design, while drawing from traditional cultural symbols.
The ceramic elements take visual cues from the Harihara Simping statue, which represents the deified first king of Majapahit, Raden Wijaya / Kertajasa Jayawardhana. Rather than reproducing the statue literally, its forms were broken down and reinterpreted into simplified patterns and stylized shapes.

The collection uses colored clay ceramic, with a color palette selected based on trend forecasts to align with contemporary fashion developments.
Gold-plated brass as a complementary material stems from its historical continuity; gold has been associated with adornment, including in the Majapahit era. Medividi took part in producing the jewelry bazel and every metal supporting material for this project.
