Sajawulan by Nisrina F. Huwaida

Jewelry collection delivering a narrative from a fragment of the story of Jaka Tarub who was chasing a turtle dove in the forest while hunting until he arrived at the lake where 7 nymphs bathed and saw the figure of Dewi Nawang Wulan.

Incorporate the Parang Rusak Batik pattern follows a contemporary design style through simplified shapes. Batik elements are engraved on each bamboo shape to reinforce Indonesian identity.

Crystal stones are the main focus in the Sajawulan Necklace design, symbolizing the goddess Nawang Wulan. The shape is designed like a water drop to evoke the setting of the folk tale.

The concept of wearing ear climbers upwards has an implied meaning that is in harmony with the concept of the shawl, an object that allows Goddess Nawang Wulan and other angels to fly back to their origin, in Heaven.

Designed for Nisrina's final project as an undergraduate product design student at Prasetya Mulya University. Crafted by Medividi, this project is honored with the Best Design Solution with Aesthetics Appeal at IIDSA 5 in 2024.
